Finally we made it to The Juke Joint. my husband and I made it today and the food was DELISH. Our server Kathy was wonderful and made us feel Welcome..Kathy checked on us a few times during our meal ...The Turkey Chops was very flavorable and I Love the potato salad ...My husband loved the oxtails over rice and he says the sweet tea put him in mind of back home in Jamaica....Kathy also said the Seafood box is delicious so we will try that next time around..Thank You Kathy for your hospitality we appreciate you.. Food is seasoned perfectly and their prices are not bad at all. Although a small place , it is definitely worth taking a trip to taste the food

I ordered from UberEats. Everything about the food just feels perfect. The food is fresh. The sides are wholesome enough that I was almost full off of them, and they're delicious. The Uptown is on point. You'd be disrespecting your own mother by not using the life she gave you to come experience this food. I'll definitely be ordering from here again, soon.

The food here is AMAZINGGG! Came in valentine's day and the set up was nice the entertainment was great. DJ played great music and could sing his butt off! Definitely will return and tell ppl about this restaurant. Lost one star for only accepting cash. idk if it was just that day though.

The atmosphere as very nice. The food was delicious. My mom saw an ad on fb for the restaurant. So we had been wanting to go for months. We finally got a chance to go andnthe food was everything g we saw in the pictures. Our waitress Cathy was awesome and made our experience worth as long as it took us to get there.

I didn't like where i was sitting the oxtails could have been cook a little longer one thing that was fabulous was the cornbread wow delicious everything else was delicious the music wad so good didn't want to leave

This past weekend my friends and I (15 people) had the pleasure of going to The Juke Joint for dinner. The two waitresses were very professional, smiled and took care of all of our needs. Prior to actually going to The Juke Joint the owner (Mr. Muhammad) did not hesitate to answer all of my questions regardless of how many times I called/text him. Speaking for the group WE absolutely LOVED the food, the music, the service and the ambience. I look forward to my next visit which will be very soon. THANK YOU so very much for dinner this past weekend. I highly recommend Juke Joint to anyone looking for a quaint, intimate space in Essex County. Thank You to the lovely waitresses for all of your help and wonderful service. Keep doing an amazing job.

There is a bit of a wait & depending on when you go parking maybe tight on the street. I came on a Friday night for take out. Walked in and the ladies at the counter graciously greeted me as I walked in. She asked if I was dining in or taking out. It was a take out order of Catfish, mac and cheese w/yams. The food was delicious, flavorful and hot when I got it home. I ordered and extra meal since the catfish was on $10 special. The drawback to the special was you only got 1 pc of fish. With the extra order, I got cabbage & potato salad. Fish fried to perfection, potato salad and cabbage was delicious was well. Worth the trip!!

Simply GREAT!!! The food, the atmosphere, the wait staff, everything was GREAT! I would surely recommend this place to everyone! The greens were great, mac & cheese great, turkey chops GREAT, fried shrimp WONDERFULLY GREAT, fried fish GREAT! I cannot complain about anything!!!! This surely will be a restaurant I frequent!

The atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic. Only downside was the wait time to be seated and served but the music and service compensated for that. Overall nice place the workers are very nice and the food was great. Worth the wait. Oh and did I mention it's BYOB which makes it that much better.
